Seems like the perfect venue for me. I did wear my version of Scots formal wear to my cousin's wedding, after all. Black tie with a full over-the-shoulder belted plaid, a dirk on my belt and skean-dhu in my stocking, and a mortuary sword on a baldric over one shoulder. One is not properly dressed without arms.
I've ben midwifing sheep all week. I pulled three sets of triplets and a set of quads. The quads was like pulling clowns from a clown car--Every time I reached in, I felt another face. What made it startling is that the mother wasn't that big. Last night I pulled two--as soon as I got one out, another ewe went into labor with a lamb that's practically half her size. Then this morning I had to take the other one to the vet's because she can't stand up.
I probably shouldn't pull as many as I do; usually it's just some assistance by putting traction on the forelegs to help the lamb out. But recently I've had to go "prospecting" for lambs that were stuck inside more than usual. I think my sheep have just been eating too well and are fat with big lambs.
In any event, I've had a "lambalanche" the past week, without much sleep in between midwifiery and bottle feedings. Thank God it's not too cold right now. I can totally manage winters in the 40's.
I have only three ewes left to lamb, so I'll be able to relax soon. I'm actually glad they all came in two weeks, instead of spread out over three months like they were a year or two ago. And this time I separated the rams so I won't have anything born in June, because our third nephew is getting married and I want to attend this one, after having to miss his two brothers' weddings due to them falling during lambing time.

I have the perfect song for this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L86gQQBYSc4
