've been reading these detective books which pay homage to old school paperback pulp novels called, "Poached Parody", which is about anthropomorphic animals solving mysteries.
My personal favorite is a private eye siberian husky named Lucius Anoraq. I really enjoy these novels and I feel they could give Blacksad a run for his money if the writers made them into comic books.
