This is a Vae Ithna, an alien species hailing from Ithnloe - two planets, each with a distinct name, both inhabited by them. Their name, translated from their language, means "Those from Sanctuary", and Ithnloe, in turn, means "Sanctuary". They have six eyes (three on each side), three pairs of legs with six-digit paws, two tails, and a pair of moth-like wings that bear markings that become more detailed with age. The coloration of their fur ranges from blue to red - with rare exceptions, - and their eye coloration range from green to yellow to red. Their insides are colored violet.

They are moderately-advanced (they are space-faring, but only within their system) and rely on crystal-based technology. Highly social and pack-oriented, they always live together, or as close to each other as possible, usually in the groups of 4 to 6 individual Vae Ithna (each group is called 'eclipse', similar to moths). They are all born hermaphrodites, and they do not maintain any hierarchy that would separate citizens into different groups. There is no solitary leader in their government; several eclipses of Vae Ithna (no more than 5) preside as the leaders of their respective regions, utilizing a form of council and debating each other while making important decisions. Vae Ithna are emotional creatures, and it is often difficult for them to maintain calm for long periods of time, so any roles that require those that partake in it to remain stoic and calm in the face of stress or even danger are respected greatly. They have instinctual claustrophobia (fear of limited space) and monophobia (fear of isolation); under the influence of those fears a Vae Ithna can be driven insane, depending on the individual and the situation. As such, they greatly enjoy high altitudes and open spaces - the designs of their dwellings often involve towers and large rooms with enough space to freely walk in.

Depicted here is Aoni-Siako, one of the many members of their species and part of an eclipse (numbering at 4 individuals). They are excitable, curious, and optimistic by nature, and will often seek ways to alleviate boredom if it occurs. They are, along with the rest of the eclipse, a trained elite soldier, specializing in performing important tasks that require experience usually lacking in many regular troops, including not only combat prowess and scouting abilities, but also diplomatic skills.

So I drew this during a period of time where I really wanted to see Vae Ithna (that is, my species) depicted, but couldn't commission anyone, so I decided "screw it, I'm drawing this myself". It took me a few days. I couldn't draw the paws, however; they were too much for me, which is why they look like socks here. I don't think I'll be doing something like this again any time soon, unless I'll feel up for it - I am not much of a drawing person. The design is not fully final, I may change some minor things here and there, but generally this is how they look like.
