This piece was a lot of fun to build, especially because of the excellent references the commissioner provided to me. As it turns out, he is actually quite the avid urban photographer himself, and the commission was inspired by actual excursions into various decaying industrial structures. A lot of the textures I used in this commission were actually pulled from the photos he took and provided, to add a touch of personal realism.

As for what the central gadget is or what it originally was for, I haven’t the foggiest. But anything with pressure dials on it is bound to do something cool."
