I have Death brainrot so let me tell you my headcanon
Death is an omnipresent god who is personalized to every individual person. He matches the aesthetic of the person's identity, their biggest fear, or their cause of death if he's feeling that playful. This pic shows a handful of the many forms he could take. For example, Death as Puss encountered him, is Hispanic(please correct me if I'm completely wrong), so he wears a poncho and fights with a pair of sickles; it's a sign of familiarity used as a false sense of security before he comes in for the kill.
