As the storm was approaching, he saw the cave entrance in the distance, at least some shelter he tought to himself.
The rain had started to fall when he stepped inside, he lit his torch only to see something big rise up, growling towards him. It came closer to him, showing itself to be a dragon, it growled at him. He took a deep breath and looked at the dragon, I mean you no harm oh great one, I am only seeking shelter from the storm, I got some dried meat and water if needed, all I ask is to have a safe place tonight.
The dragon stood and stared at him, it sighed and stepped back, it laid down and he saw behind her, more shadows crept forward, young dragons. Her kin. He took some dried branches and rocks and put them together, before he could lit on fire, the dragon puffed at it and the warmth of the fire spread in the cave, Oh thank you he replied. As he opened up his bag and took out some dried meat, the dragons looked at him, he tore it apart to share with all of them. They hadn't eaten in awhile and gulped down the meat like it was candy. He laughed and took the last of his supply to share with them.
Night went on and the young ones moved around the cave, one even started cuddling with him. He smiled and felt safe.
