Had I not discontinued work on this piece, I would have added a chapter between the previous chapter and this one about the press conference. Would have been nice. Other than that, though, this chapter came out rather well, I think, and there's finally a bit of action! Even if the action is brief, and not very tense. But it's a chapter with lots of plot advancement!
Comments and critique greatly appreciated.

Aithsa! poor kid!
I DEFINITELY would have come in and rushed the stage. I would have screamed bloody murder at the top of my lungs, "CAN'T YOU SEE THIS IS WRONG? THEY ARE SENTIENT BEINGS!"
either that or I would have launched my car at Aithsa's cage to free him
My imminent arrest/death from violence aside, this is a great chapter. you played off the 'big plot hole' flawlessly! waiting patiently for the next Chapter!

I don't want this to sound like an offense, it is not really meant in a negative way, but... If Jim does not really care that dragons can talk, why was it such a big plot hole at first place?
I mean, the only reason it is a plothole is because you could say Dave has no reason to go along with a plan that is insane, instead of trying to reason with Jim. But then you could just have him try to reason with him on the phone and fail and bring him to the conclusion that it is the only way.
(I on the otherhand, might be missing something here and just not seeing the plot hole..)
Anyway to the story itself, I was literarly wanting to yell at those humans and help Aithsa when he started to cry. That was really heart touching to read.
