The Underground is a hell of a place, really. You've got the normal mines, they go fairly shallow and the worst most people need to deal with is the risk of a cave-in or unhappy gas pockets. The Colonies are about as safe as any surface town or city. Play nice by the Ants' laws, don't bother the Ancestors, and you'll have a decent time if the lack of sunlight doesn't bother you.

Out in the caves though? The real caves? Those sprawling labyrinths of tunnels and caverns that thread through the earth? There's things out there that'd make your skin crawl. Ruins long dead from people both sides of the surface. Miners don't sign up for contending with all that. Some people though? They live for that kinda bullshit. The allure of the unknown, the thrill of discovery... even if that discovery wants to eat you. You need people like that, people who can survey those uncharted caverns and ideally make it back in few enough pieces to tell the tale so they can be locked down for mining.

You need Groundbreakers.

Here we go with a fresh reference sheet for Cassidy. One day I'll figure out what his 'species' would be called were modern science to classify them. Bio Animata? Who knows. For now though, he is what he is. Anyway, I figured that Cass deserved a something given it's been a goddamn year since I drew that singular first picture of him, with the only finished pictures of my own people I did between now and them was of Eve's fat ass. So why not a reference? A few design updates between then and now, expanded on his armor a little, better hair and ears... pretty happy with it, all told! Armorless and Fluffy Boy alts are over in scraps.
