This coming year's about magic, so here's the old hat trick – in reverse!
Last semester, I had to do a poster for some music or movie or event or something… and this is all I kept thinking! I tried to make something that would not just help me ace my Illustrator class but hopefully give some Anthrocon officials a smile too. Unfortunately I never quite worked out when or how to polish it up right, so my end result seems… limited, for a poster. Yeah I DID get a good grade, but I wish I could have pulled together more than this (more specifically, something presented better than this) – and maybe I would've, had I correctly anticipated the deadline sooner. I didn't even make time to give the rabbit a proper outfit, and the sillhouettes got thrown in on the last hour.
All in all though, as a 100% Illustrator assignment, it was a nice fun practice, especially in mimicking the style of the Anthrocon banner text. I need to learn more about making Illustrator work for me in the future though – it's good fun to use for tidy 2-D graphics! Sometimes I hope there's better, more 'usable' vector art software than this, but it's just as likely that I'm just not using it right. (Like I said, there are obviously some things I just never added.)
(And if you gotta know, the attempted sillhouette species are: fox, mouse, red panda.)

Illustrator is just difficult to use as an art program. I've battled it like a gorilla would fight a four-tentacled octopus.
Deadlines can be evil, unforgiving little snitches and should be handled the way time bombs would.
"They are man's! And they cling to me! This boy is Deadlines. This girl is Illustrator. Beware them both, as DOOM is written on their heads, for any and all who doubt their existence!"
