I was an engineer at Re-Tech and volunteered to test a new methodology for regression. After doing evals, I was picked from a pool of candidates and regressed. Unfortunately, the models were off and while my regression followed course, my growth has plateaued around 4 years old physically. Mentally we’re still trying to determine how that changes, what with neuroplasticity and all.

Initial go at kindergarten was around 5 years after regression- just put me in to see how I’d do. It was clear pretty quickly that I wasn’t ready for it though- couldn’t sit still, little interest in listening to the teacher, not potty trained, and so on. So we tried putting me in preschool for a couple years to see about getting me more ready for the classroom setting.

Second go at Kindergarten was 7 years post-regression (Still 4 physically), and went better, but still couldn’t memorize ABCs or count- tried another year of Pre-K

Third go was 8 years post-regression, and I managed to make it all the way to the end of kindergarten, but by their assessment I wasn’t ready for 1st grade and on normal students they’d suggest redoing kindergarten in that circumstance.

The 4th try comes after some specialized therapy and I actually manage to succeed now! They put me in 1st grade next, then second grade is where I start to peter out again, but being able to read is a major quality of life improvement, which means I can at least play pokemon games.
