_History_
Quick Note: Epsiode is a bit on focus on Yamagatake, a former Sumo Wrestler and a member of the Gaiking team who's one of the three Support Pilots – Bazolar (Buzzolar) in his case; he is the equivalent of Boss from Mazinger Z; an idiotic, self center goofball, who's a bit headstrong (Not Pete levels of Head strong, but we are reaching there, lads) who wants to help to proof his worth, jealous of the MC, but screws up. A running Gag in this Episode was Hachiro taking photos of Yamagatake screw ups.
After feeling the anger from the Emperor for taking too long to conquer the Earth, Gelver, a highly respected member of the Dark Knights, is chosen by the Four Generals for the next operation and travels to Earth on the Dark Horror Robot Kaiju Baragos with its own strike force, crash landing into an island's a mountain, provoking an Eruption; he formulates a plan to have some of his men to infiltrate the Dairu Maryu and destroy it and Gaiking from the inside.
Time later, the Dairu Maryu arrives to investigates the cause of the Eruption: Bunta travels to the island on Nessar along with Hachiro and Yamagatake – the latter feeling a bit jealous of Sanshiro, as well having interest for Midori himself. When surfacing, Yamagatake notices a shipwreck among the rocks and tries to help, but makes a goofed out of himself when jumping into the water, forgetting he can't swim. The close to a dozen Castaways are rescued and taken to the Daiku Maryu's Hospital, where the doctor can't understand their comatose state and suggest to let them be until they wake up.
Unbeknownst to our heroes, the Comatose Castaways are Zela's Dark Avian Corps, and with his team now on board the Daiku Maryu, Gelver sends the signal for phase two and the fiends lift their disguises and proceed to attack, two of them going after Sanshiro; He sounds the alarm, escaping from his assailants, and while the others search for the fake Castaways, a stubborn Yamagatake has a hard time believing, thinking Sanshiro is trying to ruin him, he goes to face him in his quarters, only to have a bomb – left by the intruders – exploding in his face when breaking in; then the alarm sounds off rest of the fiends are found in the Gaiking Hangar, where a gunfight is ensuing, with the Zelas trying to put explosives on the Gaiking components, some been shutdown.
Sanshiro goes around and tries to drop on one of them, but thanks to Yamagatake calling their attention, his effort is ruined the two fend off some of the attackers; Yamagatake, not heeding Sanshiro's advise and wanting to prove himself, take out the last fiend but ignores the one successfully set bomb, which explodes, causing damage to the Gaiking Part, requiring immediate repair. As he gets reprimanded by Sanshiro, Gelver begins his attack on the Daiku Maryu with the Baragos; the teams desperately repairs the Robot in the middle of the assault, while Yamagatake is in his quarters sobbingly talking to a picture of his Master – though still blaming Sanshiro for the screw ups himself caused, with Hachiro taking photos. Midori tries to convinces him to go out and fight, as Gaiking would still have trouble winning without him.
The repairs are completed and Daiku Maryu resurface with Baragos on its tail; Skylar and Bazolar are launched, but more trouble arises when Sanshiro's travel pipe is found damage, postponing again the Gaiking launch – in the meantime Fan Li and Yamagatake fend for themselves trying to protect the Ship from the Baragos' attacks, but Skylar is taken out with a tail whip and Bazolar is pinned down by the Beast: in that moment, having been put into the Skull, Gaiking is launched and assembled, ready to take on the enemy.
Gaiking uses Saur Geyser, to no effect; Baragos retaliates with Fire Breath, but the Mecha avoids with a high jump kicks, only for it to use Tail Whip; Sanshiro tries Hydro Blazer, but Gelver counter acts it with Freeze Beam. Baragos lunges onto the Mecha and uses Freeze Beam, then Fire Breath, in an attempt to break the robot's Zolmanium alloy with extreme temperatures; then it pins Gaiking with its Pincers trying to rip the head apart. In that moment, Yamagatake wakes up and goes on the offensive once more; after been tail whip once, he avoids the next in flight mode and pierces the Baragos with the Bazolar Driller and drops bombs into it through the hole; explosions rip through the robot causing it to release Gaiking. Sanshiro takes the chance and grabs the Baragos from behind taking it onto the sky and over the Sea, hitting the monster with Hydro Blazer up close into the hole cause by Yamagatake's bombs; the attack kills Gelver and Gaiking lets go of the burned out Baragos onto the sea where it explodes; the Generals can only watch in horror the demise of one of the top Dark Knights of Zela.
After the battle, Yamagatake gets praise from Sanshiro and Midori, only to be distracted by laughter from the others; taking a peek, he discovers the humiliating photos Hachiro as made of him and proceeds to go after the boy in anger, much to the humor of the others.
