I made the eyes on Saturday, and I think they turned out really well.
As with a lot of the rest of my suit, I got the idea for the eyes from http://www.matrices.net . To make the eyes, I cut up a cheap white plastic bowl, and that gave the eyes the slightly curved area that I wanted. From there, I cut out the pupils and painted the irises around them.
Once the paint was dry, I cut out some black chiffon fabric and glued two layers to the inside of each eye. I can see out pretty clearly, but the pupils are nearly black to the outside viewer unless someone is shining a light through them.
I then added a bit of material on the tops of the eyes to make friendly-looking eyelids, and then hot-glued the eyes to the head.
What do you think?
The next thing I'm going to do is apply brown fur material for the eyebrows and hair.
