I've heard of messed up people abusing animals for views on YouTube before. Heck one of the very first "viral YouTubers" from back before monetization was a thing and all videos had a resolution limit of 360p was a very twisted individual who tormented his cat just for views.

The silver lining is...by putting themselves out there like that, these people VERY quickly face the wrath of the YouTube community and typically get banned from the platform within days. I've heard some of these tools even face criminal charges depending on the severity of their animal abuse and where they live. So take comfort in the fact that this dude is going to have his channel banned and possibly even spend some time in jail.

I also found out that they are probably a minor / living with their parents as a child still so I hope the parents take action

Indeed. I'm not a psychologist but sometimes when a minor has tendencies to torture animals it's a biiiig red flag that they may start doing the same to humans later in life.
