Who am I? I think Inktail put it best...
Given the childlike and magical nature of Mylk, fey creatures are a common sight across all corners of the plane. While many are simply lesser fey who enjoy to have a bit of fun, there are some more powerful fey folk who consider Mylk a place to permanently set up shop. One such creature is the archfey Jordan, the self-proclaimed King of the Padded Pride. Utilizing his powerful illusionary magicks, Jordan travels all over Mylk recruiting mortals into his nomadic kingdom of "kittens." He seems to have a knack of picking out those who are most susceptible to his charms, often leaving them putty in his paws. Many locals had reported sightings of him and several dozen "kittens" at any given time, all dressed in attire ranging from onsies, kigus, plushsuits, etc. While some nation's leaders have raised concerns of his activities, it seems he has no interest in conquest, just helping his fellow felines enjoy themselves...
That's all to say, if you see me in Mylk, it's safe to guess that I'll be looking like a cait sith!~ And if you see me outside of that cute little plane... well, then it's anyone's guess. Want to make a bet with me and flip a coin? No magical catches this time, I purromise! And I'm an archfey of my word~
I am no exception to Mylk's strong enforcement of its rules of reality, the titular "safeguard of children's innocent hearts." The effect often lingers as I come and go from the plane, so you may find my cait sith form more childish and kid-friendly than my Luxray look at times! Now, I could go into detail about Hume and such... but I'm not looking to confuse my kittens today!
My attire? Well, this pudge you see is a delightful little curse from my crown gifted by a god from Mylk, the wonderful Truffle (link). Though, between you and me, I rather suspect Hiroaki (link) gave him the idea and the crown... Now my scepter, the Cat's Paw, draws power from the sound of its bells to coax kittens who hear it to relax and not think so hard~ It also serves as a lovely conduit for my magicks! My tail bell, made of the same bells as my Cat's Paw, has similar properties... but I mostly use it to entertain my Kittens and announce my comings & goings. The robes are of my own purrsonal design, don't you like my fashion sense?~ It's enchanted you know... so don't steal it~
Ah, you meant my diaper! It's most certainly difficult to be in the Relm of Mylk without being clad in a thick diaper, not that I particularly struggle against that. My true crown, not this silly thing on my head, is my diaper after all. It and I are sort of inseparable! Mylk seems to enjoy making my diaper all soft and cloth, I suppose I must be as cuddly as possible for the kittens by children's law! And truly, why shouldn't I listen to that sort of omnipotent fashion advice outside of Mylk?
Hm? Am I a god from Mylk? Now don't be silly! I might be a powerful archfey there, and a faerie king here, but I am no god. I get along well with the fun ones- we have lovely parties- but you can consider me something... else. Adjacent might be the best word? It's so difficult conveying some concepts to mortals...
Some of you may be aware of the Relm of Mylk, a D&D 5e module I and a few other furs (particularly Inktail) are "working" on (it's more like we are planning on doing it. Eventually). It's themed around a plane of existence forged from children's collective imaginations, and operates on kiddy toon logic. The world obeys strict laws resulting from the plane's nature as a place of children's imagination, resulting in all sorts of consequences. No cursing, no true death, no permanent consequences... and everything's all just a bit silly. A kid's world with kid's rules!
Cait sith Jordan came about from a concern about using licensed characters in a D&D module, so I pushed to move the Padded Pride (in the Relm of Mylk specifically) away from the Shinx Pokemon evolution line. So don’t worry, Shinxes, Luxios, and Luxrays are still core to the Pride as a whole! Just not in our eventual module.
Inktail had an "aha" moment with cait siths, we used my IRL cat Oreo as a breed baseline, threw in a bit of Luxray influences on the attire, cut the hair to something shorter, and kapow! Cait sith Jordan was born. And BOY, do I love the heck out of this design. It's so cool, and soft, and... me! I'm also just kinda weak to saberteeth. I wanna do so much more with cait sith, though I do fear folks are too attached to Luxray-alpha to let cait sith take the lead too much. X3
I kinda wanna snuggle myself tbh... I would kill for a cait sith Jordan plushie later in my life when I'm away from family. So soft. 👀 And so cool ✨. And worth every moment I've spent drafting up this post! <3
