I really like the Maned Wolf here, especially her battle harness but I'm still puzzled by the background. Is the brown spiral-thing supposed to be carved into the wall or is it painted?

Your art is so timeless~ I remember I used to have this as my desktop for ages when I was younger. :>
I love the subtle transition of her mane into the braid, and those adorable ear tufts.
