I suspect if Perrito has his own encounter with him that he might just 'slide under the radar.' After all he did claim to be a cat at first, and so may be entitled to a few more lives even if he says he doesn't need them.

The fact that Perrito survived getting drowned in the river, does say something.

Also, I wonder what Lobo Muerte would say if meeting DEATH from Discworld (who as we know, is RATHER FOND of cats. Although, even he might admit that 9 lives is a bit much.
