Last upload for today. I just keep finding cool stuff in my WIP folder lol.
This is both, a remake of an old picture AND a redesign of an old character! Kudo to whoever remembers who Nuru is. He's an old design that has been lingering around. Almost got rid of him if I didn't think of how cool a pit fighter character would be only to remember I already got Nuru lololol.
Nuru is a massive albino crocodile. Despite his size and scary face, he's actually quite shy and a big ol cinnamon bun. AND to contradict that personality he's a pit fighter. There's multiple fighting rings throughout the city, but the biggest one is ran by Abella herself. Nuru is lucky enough to not only fight in the most popular ring, but also be Abella's personal fighter. If a fighter is good enough they'll get a 'sponsor'. A sponsor is, usually, a wealthy individual who in exchange for taking care of the fighter's expenses will get a cut of what they make in a fight(if they're winners of course). The big guy managed to make himself quite the reputation. In the ring he lets any balled up anger out and goes ape shit. Despite that he's not much of a people person. Nuru in the ring and Nuru outside the ring are two different people. He lets his anger out in an animalistic yet therapeutic way. He has A LOT of demons he's bottled deep down and only lets it out when he's in the ring. Of course, that means people expect him to be this insane monster but in reality he just wants to watch sci-fi movies and put puzzles together U-U
And to explain wtf is going on here, Nuru being the big cinnamon bun that he is cannot say no to people. Especially Abella cause he thinks she's so cool so he says yes to go to a dumb party he didn't want to attend in the first place and was nervous to go alone. Especially since he knows people would just ogle him. So he invited his small birb friend, Akela!

Even tho they're not dating and the two DO have a crush on each other. They've known each other since they were kids and Akela ended up moving away only to come back years later for college. Nuru is a pit fighter that works for a mafioso and Akela is a reporter. Uh oh :)
