A while back I posted the image of God, and beneath it mentioned that he wasn't alone near the beginning. Fate was there as well. He is the Tahwri of the universal story, the grand narrative architect, antithetical to God's idea of letting the universe play itself out.

Fate wasn't happy with God's plan, and hijacked it, weaving a tale, a path, and an outcome it desired. However, as this entity soon realised, even for something with its level of influence and power, the universe or rather organic life was stubborn. It told its own stories, formed its own opinions. After all, their perspectives were worlds apart.

As powerful as Fate is, it can't directly influence the real-space universe. It can only whisper and steer those who are already there to do its bidding. There was one such entity Fate prized above all else, the Devourer.

There was a particular planet, as you may have guessed, Ephalon, which had various significant historical. No matter what Fate's plans were, and no matter how many scenarios it played out in its head, everything kept going wrong. That is why this being has tried its utter most to thwart progress on this planet.
