Another "chapter" in the "Queen Vicki" world that
brianblackberry okayed me to create that involves a number of his own characters ("Thanks, Brian!") in a pretech D & D type world where his fem skunk character, Vicki (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2146150/), is ruler of a good sized and pretty powerful kingdom.
Starting story is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1823500/
In this "chapter" Vicki sends her agents out to secure a treaty with a troublesome chief at the Kingdom's southern border. A show of "power" is to be made to impress the chief but things go astray when the "Queen's vessel" goes into a coma.
Note: This story part takes place 15+ years after Marriah comes into Vicki's palace.
Characters Vicki, Ferra, Marriah, and James are copyright of

The Queen's "Vessel"
Formal camp of Tribes' chieftain Banndra Kammell.
"The drug will keep the...vessel incapacitated for several days," a jackel shaman reported.
"Good. It will be interesting to see how the northern queen will do her magic when her...puppet is unable to awaken," said the zebra stallion.
"Without Merranda we have no vessel for the Queen," James said.
"We have the agreement worked out," said Ferra. "Get Kammell to sign it and the visit isn't needed."
"He does not intended to sign without proof of the Queen's power to inhabit her agents' bodies to speak for herself," the white furred fox said.
"Then our people will have to keep at him...."
James waved his mate quiet.
"This has to happen!" he stated. "Not only to prove it to Kammell but to maintain the Queen's reputation for having her magic power. If it's not done there will be some doubt. And that may be enough for Kammell to not only not treat with us but give him leverage to convince others to join him."
Marriah listened to all of this. Considering things carefully.
"I have an idea," she chimed in.
"What's that?" inquired Ferra.
"The vessel can be anyone that the Queen knows well, correct?"
"Yes," said James.
"Then why don't I take the place of Merranda? The Queen is very...knowledgable of me and that should make it easy for her to inhabit my body for the time she needs," said Marriah.
Ferra and James looked at each other.
"She's right. It could work," Ferra said.
James looked back to Marriah, his eyes studying her very carefully.
"It's risky," the tod said. "Even with the familiarity...."
He turned his attention to Ferra.
"Get Merranda's Queen's clothing out and start altering them to fit Marriah," he directed.
"Come along, dear," Ferra said to the doe. "I need you to get the fit right."
"You'll have to do without her for awhile," James said.
Ferra gave him a questioning look.
"I'm taking Marriah away from the camp for some time. I need to explain things to her, let her know what to expect. I don't want any of Kammell's spies to be listening in. We'll be back before evening."
A pair of Kammell's guards watched as the white furred fox assisted the deer doe onto her mount. Both noted that his hands were taking some liberties on a couple of places on her body.
"He's going to have a good time with her in some clearing!" stated one.
"Can you blame him?" replied the other. "There's something about that doe that grabs a man and doesn't let go!"
"Sigh. Is good to be the Captain of the Queen's Guard!" his friend murmurred.
"Aye. I hear he has access to all the fems of the Queen's court!" the second one stated.
"Well, I for one wouldn't mind being able to hold and bed that one!" the first one said, nodding to Marriah's back.
"Agreed! Even Kammell gets the look of lust when he sees her!"
Marriah glaced to her right at James who rode close beside her.
"Wanted to make sure that anyone watching thinks we're..." he said to her unvoiced question.
She appeared to consider the thought for a moment.
"Hmmmmm, in that we could do it for real to make it to make things look good," Marriah suggested.
James reached out one arm and touched a fingertip to her nose, a sign of endearment and humor.
"Later, pretty one," he said. "For now we have other matters to concentrate on."
A few miles from the camp they found a small clearing.
"We're far enough away," said James as he stopped and slid off his horse.
After assisting Marriah to the ground he stepped back away from her.
"Marriah....show me the Queen!!" he commanded!
"You're going to do...what?" tribes Chief Kammell said.
"The Queen will visit tonight through her vessel," James reinformed the stallion.
"Her...vessel has recovered from her illness?"
James caught the look of quicky quashed surprise on Rail's face.
"No, Merranda still suffers but we have someone to take her place. We will be ready for the Queen's visit after sun fall," said James.
Kammell glaced at his shaman then back to James.
"Very well, we will meet in the Ceremonies tent," the Chief said.
Kammell and his shaman were already in the tent when James arrived with Ferra and Marriah. The vixen was dressed in her finest Court clothing and James in his formal Captain's garb. Marriah wore a purple ankle length robe. The zebra stallion raised an eyebrow at the sight.
"A bit overdressed, mayhap?" he asked, slyly.
"The Queen is coming and this is a State visit. To show any less respect would be an insult to her, and to yourself," James replied, cooly.
Stopping Marriah at the center of the tent Ferra loosened the deer doe's robe some.
"You'll be fine," the vixen whispered to her mate. "Vicki wouldn't do anything to harm you."
Marriah nodded and Ferra retreated back to where James stood and positioned herself to his right and nearly half a pace behind him.
"How soon..." Kammell started then stopped when he saw Marriah's body jerk.
Over a minute's time the doe quivered, shook, and moaned, then she slumped to the rug and her body trembled as she lie there. Then, she went still. With almost painful slowness Marriah arose, her back to the four onlookers. Raised her arms up she brought one hand down in front of her face as if to examine it. As if by magic the cloak fell away from her settling on the ground around the doe's feet. Marriah wore a silver colored silken dress whose skirt hem stopped a couple of inches above her ankles. There was one strap over her right shoulder while her other shoulder was left bare. The doe ran her hands down her sides along her waist, hips, and thighs, then, swiftly, turned to face her audience!
"Goddess!!" explained Ferra.
The tranformation was striking! The body and face were Marriah's but there was a look about her that was someone else's! Her stance reflected a confidence, regalness, a blinding assurance that Ferra had never seen in her mate before! And the look, the look on the doe's face!!
"The Queen!" the vixen whispered.
Blazing brown eyes locked onto the chief.
"So, Kammell! Are you ready to seal our agreement?!"
The voice was Marriah's but the tone and words were Vicki's!
James was impressed!
"She's here, my Chief! Kill her!" growled Rail.
"Be silent!" commanded Kammell, his eyes glued to Marriah.
The jackel's hand slipped into his robe and gripped the hilt of his slim bladed dagger.
"If you are not willing to seize this chance....!" he snarled, stepping toward Marriah.
Ferra, seeing the blade come out of the Shaman's robe, tried to move to intercept him. James' hand on her shoulder restrained her.
Rail took two steps towards the deer fem before Kammell's own blade slammed into the shaman's side! He was dead before he slumped to the ground. Marriah stood there, watching the whole event transpire before her. Not once did she try to move away or dodge. It was as if it were something that did not concern her in the least. Marriah/Vicki looked down at the body of the shaman then back to Kammell.
"A wise choice!" she stated.
"I'm ambitious, oh Queen. Not a fool!" came the reply.
Marriah looked to James.
"The agreement?" she inquired.
"Is ready, Highness," James answered.
The blazing gaze returned to the Chief.
"Well, are the terms agreed upon?!" she demanded.
"Yes, oh Queen! They are."
"Then all that is needed is your mark on the agreement."
"Aye, oh Queen."
Not once did the stallion's eyes leave Marriah form. The woman turned a little and placed her her left leg forward and a bit to her left to show herself to him in the most pleasing pose possible. The action revealed that the left side of the skirt was slitted up to midhip thus baring that shapely limb for him to see.
"You want Marriah, don't you, Kammell?" the deer woman said. "Yes, I can see and sense that you do."
Marriah's hands molded down the length of her hips.
"You desire to hold her in your grasp. Have her in your bed."
"What is she doing?!" thought Ferra.
"You can have her! She is my gift to you!"
It took all she had for Ferra to stop herself from screaming! Once again, James' hand tightened on her shoulder.
"We serve the Queen!" he whispered to Ferra. "No matter what!"
The expression of lustful want on the stallion's face was blindingly evident. Then it changed, becoming thoughtful.
"You tempt me oh Queen but no," he said.
"Why not? You desire her sooooo much!"
"True. But I'd be a fool to have a spy, indeed, your own eye in my camp!!" he stated, firmly.
Marriah effected a look of innocence and "bumped" her hips to one side some.
"I? I would do such a thing?" she said in the silkiest of voices.
"Toy not with me, oh Queen! To have your vessel in our midst would be the height of foolishness! And, as I said before, I choose not to be a fool! You have your agreement! Be satisfied with that!"
"So be it!" replied the voice of the Queen.
She looked to where Ferra and James stood.
"I am done here. Since this is her first time as my vessel do not be surprised that Marriah is sleepy and weak for a few days."
James nodded.
"Very well. I will take my leave. Other duties call!" she stated.
Shepherding Ferra ahead of him, James went to Marriah. The look of Vicki faded from the deer doe and her stance became more relaxed. James caught her as she collapsed.
Marriah rode beside Ferra. The day was fair and and a delight but she was aware that the vixen was still steamed about Vicki's offering her to Kammell.
"Ferra."
"Yessss?"
That didn't bode well!
"She had to know that he wouldn't accept me," Marriah pointed out.
"She may have thought that but she didn't know for sure!" growled the vixen.
Ferra looked at her deer mate.
"You were a strong temptation to Kammell! All it would have taken was one heartbeat of weakness and you would not be riding beside me now!"
In a huff Ferra thumped the sides of her mount with both knees and it broke into a trot leaving Marriah behind. The doe was at a loss as to what to do.
"Trouble in paradise?"
Turning her head left she saw James riding beside her. She had been so preoccupied that she hadn't even heard his approach.
"Ferra's still upset over...."
"I know. Kind of hard to miss," James interrupted.
"I...I think I should explain to her....."
"You will do NO such thing!!" James commanded, giving her a no nonsense hard look!
He moved a little closer to Marriah.
"Look, You have...inserted yourself into a high court secret and you do not talk to anyone else about it! Not even Ferra! She does not need to know that it was all an act!! What she does not know she can not reveal, accidentally or otherwise!! If you hadn't shown me how very well you could mimic the Queen I wouldn't have considered your proposal in the first place!"
His expression softened.
"And if it wasn't so damned important that Kammell agree to this treaty I wouldn't allowed you to take the risk, either."
They rode in silence for a way.
"We have a couple of weeks to settle Ferra," James said at last. "I suggest that we put our minds to that task. Even then I'll warn the Queen about Ferra's displeasure just in case."
"Hmmmmm, Ferra's fertile cycle is starting in two days," Marriah mused. "Perhaps knowing a new kit was on the way might help calm her."
He put out his right hand and took her left hand in it.
"You wouldn't be angling for your next fawn, would you?" he inquired with a conspiritoral smile.
"Me?" she questioned with an expression of utterly innocence. "I would do such a thing?"
He gave a easy laugh, then his face took on a odd expression that was a mix of concern and seriousness.
"One more thing, pretty one," he said.
"Yes?"
"Should you ever be the Queen's Vessel again you will refrain from offering yourself up to anyone!" he told Marriah.
"I was very sure his fear of spys would keep him from...." she began.
James waved her silent with his free hand then brought their linked hands up between them and gave her a soft smile.
"NEVER again!" he stated firmly. "I have no desire to explain to our fawns why mommy didn't come back from her trip!"

One scene that I'd like to see, which would easily stand out in my mind, would be of Marriah as she looks onward at the stallion with the slit skirt exposing one leg. I'm sure many other furs would enjoy the 'come hither' expression on her face, while she's teasing the chieftain. :)
