When I was young and into Yugioh, and the Egyptian god cards came out, I saw "Slifer the sky Dragon" and imagined him getting stronger with each card in my hand (that's how it goes), later, the anime did a story where the villain did exactly that!
Then when I MLP FiM came out, I noticed how similar Rarity and G3 Sweetie-belle looked, and made them siblings, later on, "stare master" aired....
