Upon realizing non-patrons cannot interact with public content on Patreon (besides viewing it), I decided to make FA my main gallery for legacy purposes.
This is part of "The Kattanaita Collection" that includes art, gifts and commissions from my time as a furry.
Works are in no particular order and will be posted as I find them in my personal archives.
The Kattanaita Collection #18: Love the way you love
Circa 2014
The words were taken straight out of Silverchair's Miss you love, which I assume was a big hit in Brazil in 1999 since most of the comments on the official music video are from Brazilians.
Apparently it was the theme song for a couple in a Brazilian teenage soap opera, but I was never a big fan of soap operas. I'm so glad I don't have that sort of association for this song; I think it would've ruined it for me.
I used to listen to the radio all the time, though. I had this tiny yellow radio that I carried with me everywhere. Many afternoons were spent just roaming around the city's streets trying to find a purpose to an otherwise pointless life, lost in whatever tunes were playing on the radio at the moment. I don't miss that period of my life at all.
This was an experiment to see how fast I could make quick and simple comics. Several shortcuts were used, for instance, a single base for the character and the card, so two of the panels are identical to the other two, with some minor key differences. I also did the base as quickly as possible, which resulted in a rather disproportionate character; the face is too large, the ears are too small, hands seem inconsistent from closeup to medium shot, etc.
Needless to say, the experiment did not yield positive results, as even with all the shortcuts it still took too long for me to consider it feasible doing it by myself on a regular basis.
I always thought this one was cute. Art-wise, I'd say it's more on the mediocre side of things due to how fast I tried to make it, but I still find it endearing. It makes light of a recurring circumstance in which all the guys I had a crush on were very stand-offish or just plain rude.
I get it that just because you love someone, it doesn't mean that they would or could ever love you back. In an ideal world, we'd love those who love us, and our feelings would always be reciprocated in a fulfilling manner. As it is, I'm very feline in that aspect. I tend to be attracted to those who are not attracted to me. It seems like a self-imposed challenge; you want to earn their attention and their affection with your devotion, but it never works out. I mean, they're not interested in you for a reason, and no matter what you do will change that. Well, maybe copious amounts of money, but I never had that.
So this one takes a jab at the situation and how I despise the way I was treated, but it also takes a jab at myself and my poor choices when it comes to choosing suitable partners.

Awwwwww! At first, I thought this was going to be a "I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave (wink)" kind of things. XD
What a mean (albeit kinda funny) card! Though this does raise a good question/issue about loving somebody who doesn't want to love you back, and I'm sorry you had to go through something like that.
But I am glad you're apparently able to laugh about it, at least a little, and I hope that someday you're able to love yourself first, and that you find somebody who loves you (and of course that you love as well). x3

It is important to laugh about past events; it's part of what defines who we are now. Relationships never came easy for me, as there is a huge disconnect between my life experiences and the experiences others had. Honest and open conversation is so hard to find, and even when you can find some common ground, we end up isolated in our own convictions.
But!! It makes for a funny comic. Makes me laugh, the irony of it all! I may never find what I'm looking for, but I'll keep looking!

D'awww, I love your new icon with the grumpy pink cat! It matches what you're saying about being able to laugh at bitter past events. But you are right, being able to laugh at stuff like that is part of what helps us to move on.
Good luck on your search for romance, and in the meantime, I hope you become happier with yourself and gain wonderful new friends along the way. x3
