My inner bird approves of this photo.
Full size because I have a really hard time in finding good photos showing in detail the placement of feathers on the head and in which points you actually see the skin and the scales through the feathers:

The photo was taken by me during a flight demonstration of birds of prey, I don't remember which eagle species she is though. Caressing her feathers wasq uite an experience... I think I now envy a lot people who breed birds.

very cool..
I have a decent cheap camera. hehe. I have a Samsung. It's nice because I can take pictures at 1/1500 of a second, but I need good lighting for that or flash. Without the flash in dim lighting I have to decrease shutter speed a lot, and ends up being blurry on any moving shots.
