you mean why humans are included in my setting at all? i'd say both for aesthetical and structural reasons.
i have plenty of trippy concepts and nonhuman creatures in my setting, and so placing those in familiar world with humans makes the setting somewhat more grounded and comprehensible, as well as highlighting fantastic elements in contrast with something mundane.
many concepts, topics and conflicts i'm interested in i would like to explore in a way that involves humans, and i made a lot of the world aspects stem from their presence
