My new baby... ARES TAR-21 (TAVOR Assault Rifle) - Airsoft
I just now finished removing the ugly ass orange flash hider that came hot-glued to the barrel, but now it's rocking my Noveske KX3 Sound Amplifying Flash-Hider. You can see the torn up stock flash hider below for a comparison.
If people weren't stupid, they wouldn't have to hot glue these things on there so damn hard... you practically destroy it every time you want to remove the stock orange flash hider. :/
Getting back on topic, on top of the new flash-hider, I bought the newer Element EOTECH Replica red-dot sight that comes pre-equiped with the EOLAD Laser Add-on to go along with it. I haven't zeroed-in the equipment yet, but I'll get around to it soon. You'll also vaguely see the EOLAD pressure switch, which is electric-taped to the outer piece of the trigger handle.
I'm also using the short-type M4 magazines that I initially bought for my G36 with its conversion magwell, and I personally think they look much better than the typical M4 magazine. They're 130 round Mid-Caps.
All in all, this gun is fucking sexy, and damn comfortable in my hands. I'm probably gonna favor this weapon over my G36. Similar performance, slightly lower FPS (which is good for chrono-regulations), and a much shorter package. Even if I do use the G36, the TAR-21 is my definite CQB gun.
Hell yeah!
Also, I thought I had taken pictures of it with me in my gear, but I guess my Droid wasn't listening to me that day. I'll hopefully get some new pose pictures out tomorrowish. Stay tuned :3

Hmms. I don't have an actual chrono to test it, unfortunately. I'd probably ball-park via hearing that its probably 15-20 rounds a second. I go through my 130 round mid-caps in about 4 to 6 decent bursts. I utilize a 9.6v 1600mah battery. I do have a 11v 1600mah li-poly battery, but its just a smidge too thick to fit in the TAR-21. On top of that, I'm not sure if my stock TAR-21 can handle it. What would you think?
Echo1 sells an AK74 (The Contractors Personal Weapon) that's li-poly ready. Still considering buying it at some point, but I don't have any spare cash for another gun. The TAR-21 drained that fund recently XD.
I'll probably ask how Spartan Imports feels about the TAR-21's ability to handle a li-poly stock, asking them about my G36's repair at the same time. We'll see this Monday.

Kinda like how I enjoy doing all of my own computer work.
I'd love to modify and fix my own guns as well, but all those screws, springs, and other things has me concerned. The TAR raises an even higher bar on that, since its a Version 6 gearbox, the barrel is attached directly to the gearbox, and that the piston head is unique and can only be replaced by another of the same piston head.
Again, I'm too new to this to offer any valid argument against Li-Poly, but Echo1 does make some quality gear. As long as you don't hose the damn thing, I'm sure it could put up with a li-poly.
Either way, I bought my li-poly battery when it was on sale for $35. Now way would I have bought it for its original $90 tag.

Definitely. To be honest, I wanted the TAR-21 even before I got the G36, but didn't want to sink $500 into a gun with a pre-included sight that sucked balls.
The G36 breaks pre-maturely so I go airsoft gun hunting again, then BAM, I see this sightless version for $300 at evike. Instant purchase.
Its got the accuracy of a full-length rifle, but with the compactness of a CQB weapon. You can also supposedly mount an M203 grenade launcher on it, but I have no clue as to how. I'm assuming there's a hand-guard that's sold that has a rail on the bottom, but again, I have no clue where to find such a thing.
A grenade launcher is definitely on the list of things I want to get for the TAR-21, but the only one that seems suitable is a mad-bull one that mounts on a rail and is activated by a button. I'd much prefer the trigger activation and purpose of an M203, but the blasted problem remains as to how to attach one! XD

KWA makes some good stuff, but I like long-barrel guns. In Airsoft, the longer the barrel, the more accurate and (sometimes) harder it shoots.
The G36C is the CQB variant, the G36K is the carbine, and the G36 is the full length gun, which is massive FYI. ARES G36 was a slam-dunk to me, cause it included an integrated 3x scope, a red-dot on top of it, maintained the realistic 3-pin takedown disassembly, has ARES proprietary quick spring changing system, shoots at an incredibly hard 400+ fps stock, and had blow-back to boot. Unfortunately, I must've received a lemon. The Gearbox locked up the first time, and was sent back to AirsoftGI, whose shitty techs couldn't diagnose the problem, but somehow managed to get it to fire again. When I got it back, it fired for a few seconds before I tried to use the spring-tension-release, which failed and caused the gears to sit in free-fall, grinding together when I would try to fire.
Its currently sitting at Spartan Imports right now, and I'm waiting to hear how much it'll cost to get it fixed. I think the whole gearbox is shot, being problematic from the beginning, so I'm ballparking 75-150 dollars... They also probably will not like the fact that I severely damaged the orange flash-hider, since ARES must use really expensive glue to hold the fuckers on. Both the G36 and TAR-21 gave me quite some trouble in my efforts to get past the glue for removal.
ARES is expensive, but they make some rock-solid stuff, not to mention they use the same material for manufacturing the gun as the real guys do. The TAR-21 is impressive, I just wish I hadn't received a shitty G36 by chance.

Of course. KWA makes some excellent stuff, I'm just saying that ARES G36 was too good to pass up at the time XD.
The TAR-21 is effin' amazing. I've never enjoyed firing an airsoft rifle so much. My friend has a DPMS M4, a D-Boys SCAR-L, a D-boys EBR MK14, and a (softair?) Mauser sniper rifle, but I still favor my TAR any day, even over my G36 (although I've only fired to the G36 for so long before it blew up).
If you're looking for the TAR-21, check out http://www.airsoftpost.com/advanced.....;Submit=Search . AirsoftGI also has/had the black TAR-21 on sale for $300 as well. If that link doesn't work, just hit up evike.com and do a search for "Tavor".
The original TAR-21 with short barrel and pre-included MARS red-dot/laser sight has been discontinued (good riddance...), probably cause the red-dot sucked way too much. It was the one that was retailing at $500. With the exception of the sale, the TAR-21 usually retails for $350-370 and comes in three colors from ARES - Desert Tan / OD-Green / Black.
I haven't heard or seen any other TAR-21 airsoft rifle being manufactured by other companies, yet.
