i think the HIGHEST ive seen one go was for $60, which is quite high for a "fakie" XD But generally ponies are pretty cheap (unless its a REAL takara)

Wow, these really sell for that much? Hrmmm...I might see about buying one and then creating a reverse mold out of it to produce replicas. From what I read on that link the copyright/owner of the form seems to either be defunct or likely splintered, meaning the sub-company that was manufacturing them went out of business and then sold off all their assets to the highest bidder(s), who could have then resold copies and replicas to anyone else. The ones on the very bottom. They might be too small though...although I could make a smaller mold from an original. I've never worked with rubberish compounds though, the injection molding kits I've used thus far I've only made Lego stuff with, so this would be something new and interesting to do.

huh! Interesting thought! I too had thought about making a mold for myself (not for profit) of them to dress up and look nice (with of course better hair), but I've never worked with anything like that either. But you are right about what probably happened to the company and mold. Maybe someone will find more information on them, they certainly have a bizarre past!
