6: Even if you do use them you can not make fan art or sell these as stickers or merch in your personal store.
Now that annoying law stuff is out of the way; these are Snailgons.
They can produce slime to hunt or stick to things to not fall and to climb but prefer to trot on all fours.
Their antennae are used to help make sure the spot they go into is not too small.
They have no bones but have heavy cartilage and have teeth that are made of Keratin and therefore if they are chipped or broken off/ripped out, they can grow them back.
Their tail is actually extendable but; while traveling they keep it curled like a shell.
If needed to climb and or produce slime, the tail will uncurl and as herms they are able to find mates or breed with themselves if they are not able to find a suitable or any mate near them during breeding season.
Breeding season is between April and June; and single mating can lay 10+ fertile eggs while breeding with another of their kind gives each 5 fertile eggs each, aka both wander off pregnant.
They are prone to make little mating dances where they lift their tail up into the sky and flash the colors, and while courting they will intertwine their tails and eat together or share food as if to hug or hold hands. They will sleep next to each other as well and as Mollusca; they do enjoy water and will preen or lick water off each other for hydration.
While most tend to be wanderers if they find a spot they like and the environment allows it, they can settle down and raise an entire family as a single or duo parents. Babies will grow up and eventually set out on their own to find their own partners and as such you can end up have about 40 different families living in the same apple tree because of their size (The apple tree example is specifically for the Colombian Ramshorn Apple breed only. Others will live in different parts of the world.)
Temperament: Snailgons are a very mild temperament and are a great and excellent beginner's pet if you were looking into housing Mollusca. Easy to take care of and more than happy to chitter and make a fuss if they are upset, this species will let you know when they are not happy or something is wrong in their tank. Be aware though that if you have one you better prepare to have more and a big housing enclosure for them because you will end up having babies sooner than you think!
Age: These can live up to 150 years (Though the oldest in captivity on record was only 40 years) so you will end up having a lifelong pet that might even outlive you so you need to be aware of this. Breeding age starts at age 20 for these little beauties.
Intelligence: They can learn basic commands and chirp or echo sounds similar to words but have no idea what words actually are/how to carry on a conversation. At most they will have the intelligence of a human infant.
Size: At age 15 they will be fully grown (But internally and genetically they still won't have the breeding pieces. Those take another 5 years to grow in their body before they are finally ready or able to breed.)
AT full size they can be as big as an apple, but there are a few specific species that have been 'claimed' to be as big as a soccer ball though no photographic evidence has been given.
Other most known breeds are: Giant African Land Snail.
White Garden Snail.
Mediterranean Green Snail.
Garden Snail.
Roman Snail.
White Lipped Snail.
Milk Snail.
Common Whelk.
If you plan to use this species or different breeds of the Snailgon and have questions about environment or other things; feel free to note me and I will answer.
