Eh, Carmageddon was originally a PC game, DOS based originally then they made a Win95 compatible version (that's how old it is). Then after the second one flopped they like, started porting it out on PS and N64, then made another failure third one.
Supposedly there's a forth one being made but it's like, being made by other people entirely.
I never really found another game with the same kind of automotive carnage. At least not with both pedestrians and car-on-car action. =/

They made some weird decisions with the third one - I could see what they were trying to do with it but it didn't really work. The huge toning down of time bonuses meant that you had to actually race to stand a chance of finishing, meaning that every track felt more unique rather than just exactly the same twelve areas with different signs dotted around the place.
The big mistake was the running-over mechanics - Carma 2 made the zombies a bit more resilient, but getting up unscathed after you hit them sideways at 60mph is ridiculous. Still, I got it for 50p at a car boot sale, so it wasn't exactly a high-risk purchase for me.
This is hilarious, by the way, Nitro.
