a little creature.... trapped in the winding caverns of planet Gold Cloud; the seemingly endless sprawling tunnels carved through the rock by the slow-moving, parasitic white vines threading the planet. Where their mass once traveled, rounded holes remain, the vines moved on elsewhere over hundreds of years.
Coin winds through the passageways. Her species had a natural knack for navigation through the tunnels, something to do with electromagnetic fields and some extrasensory keenness. Coin however, one of the last born, was a product of many, many generations of narrowing and narrowing genepools, incestuously made by the final few. She lacks many of the innate functions to her species, as a defect. Wherever she originated from, whatever small settlement her species had, she can not find it again. She dives and perches about without a clue where she is, or where she is going.
On Gold Cloud however, incestuous mating gets you closer to some divinity. She has some mystical ability to 'understand' and 'talk' with any living creature of Gold Cloud. She doesn't know this is unusual-- to her, the world is simply made to be met with. The caverns are not teeming with life, but creatures specially evolved to live here do exist, and here and there she meets some.
Her flying ability-- especially narrow, agile maneuvers through the tunnels-- are an impossible rarity on Gold Cloud. She sometimes stumbles upon misplaced individuals, washed away to odd corners, stuck in random puddles or crammed between rocks, and helps as much as she can, giving a lift to the smallest ones and carrying them back to their homes.
Her diet consists of mostly corpses waterlogged or dashed along the cave walls. Gold Cloud frequently experiences floods, and the caverns are the final destination for many creatures. She is primarily carnivorous... despite her mostly friendly nature, she does occasionally eat a living creature. It's an innocent urge she sees no reason to avoid; a part of her nature, and the animals around her accept it as her nature, when they have the sapience to do so.
Maybe one day, she will incidentally find her way out of the tunnels, and see Gold Cloud's skies for the first time.
