Solitude

In the frigid solitude of the snowy mountains far, far away, your cries echo endlessly for only the arctic spires to hear.
You long for the comfort and compassion of others, yet resent all the world's unrelenting cruelty has given you.
Day lasts no longer than a passing dream, as darkness swallows the landscape like a nightmare that never ends.
When all you have is what you are, and all you want is what you will never have, there's nothing more to gain and nothing more to lose...Now that it's 2011, I really want to make a conscious effort to improve my art even more than I did in 2010. One of the first steps is switching from Flash to do my drawings in. I'm going to try to use Paint Tool SAI instead, and this is my first drawing in it.
Took me a few days to get this drawn just the way I wanted. Almost all of it was done with the paint brush tool, which has such beautiful blending compared to anything else I've used. I do need to play around with brushes and other effects, but for now, I'm happy with this and consider it to be a large leap forward in my art as opposed to a paltry single step. One can only hope I will do more soon.
1920x1080 version available in my InkBunny Gallery. Looks sexy as a wallpaper.

this is a BIG step to some pretty damn good artwork
I might just use it as my new wallpaper!
As for the Sneasel there, no, it's not Atra. It's supposed to represent me.
And yeah, the Sneasel is supposed to represent me.
You really put a lot of time into this picture and it shows, it really is a huge leap for your 2011 art. Keep it up!
but yes, this is a big leap!
Anyway, this is so cool!
Is there anything you can recommend about the eyes for the future? What is it that bothers you? I'd like to know for future reference.
How to put it.... maybe the style of the eyes didn't match with the whole drawing?
I just noticed, your avatar's Sneasel's eyes are somewhat similar to these.
However your avatar's eyes work (somewhat) more than this drawing's.
Perhaps the eyes would look better when it is larger. (The style in your avatar is different though.)
(English is my second language, so the grammar may be massed up, I apologize.)
Great picture zeph!
I like it :o
Anyway, I like the pic, it really gives of the solitude of the sneasel (you). Makes me want to go and comfort him with a huggle.
