I found a shiny Azurill pretty early into my Violet playthrough. And now I absolutely love them... I make them a character now. And no, I swear I don't do this with every shiny I catch. I found a few others. Like Oinklage or Drakloak. But this one stuck with me the most.

Ah, that explains it. I've been avoiding Trainer battles since it was never one of the draws of pokemon to me.
Yeah, I know. Pokemon is usually all ABOUT the trainer battles... for me, it's the uncertainty of whether they'll have a team I can actually beat. Especially since, with the new focus on open-world gameplay in S/V, any pokemon can really show up in any trainer's team.
Plus, again because of the open-world Gameplay, I'm more interested in exploring.
