I swear this began as painting fur practice! I pulled many references of some characters I liked, most of them furred for me to learn how to paint fur properly. Then I switched to practicing hair and I liked it so much that I decided to paint the rest of the body to the hair.

I figured --- will it not be a good idea to redraw it a year later, to see if I improved? There surely is a very long way to go for me... But I only began this journey! Maybe I will do this every year. I'm sure I will look back on this piece with emotions in the future.
