Made me some new pawpads! They originally were stitched vinyl which I liked, but after some rough use they were starting to come off a bit and had some worn areas.
After a LOT of trial and error I finally made these. They are made from foam and liquid latex <3 ONE OF THEM HAS A SQUEAKER AND IT IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY WITH OMG. They are a deeper and more hot pink then this picture looks. I just took this with my phone.
Since I now have the mold sitting around collecting dust and nothing to use it for..and more then half a gallon of liquid latex chillin in my cabinet...I thought why not try and make a few for other people! If anyone is interested in a pair of pawpads let me know! I can do five fingers. I can also trim down the finger pads since mine are larger then the average fursuit paw's xD They will also be smoother then these are (if you look close you can see some flaws) because I learned a better way to apply the latex and not screw it up like I did for the first three coats.
I can do any color! Just let me know <3 Not too sure how much I'd charge to do someone a pair of these...probably like 15 dollars? Just to cover the cost of the latex and special foam I use <3
...now I just need to redo those crappy claws I made a while back..

Wow these look fantastic...
I was in the middle of trying to re-vamp and fix my pawpads.
I currently cut off my pawpads from my handpaws. I was thinking of getting some Enamel clearcoat to spray on my paws to make them smooth.
I am by far no fursuit maker of any degree, I just was trying to think of ways to make my paws smoother, or look better.

My pawpads above, the latex got stained and I finally found something called "Goof off" to clean them to perfection. My paws look brand new now, except I want to replace the pawpads.
(Imagine that above photo without the pink pawpads)
Is it possible to make the pawpads thinner? So I would be able to use them to some degree of dexterity as normal fingers? (Like if I were to try and play Guitar Hero in Fursuit)

yeah I probably could :3 I just would cut down the edges a bit and cut down the foam so they aren't as thick. The thickness of these pads actually help me with my dexterity in these paws xD They have foam built in them to make them more puppy like, but in turn it makes bending my fingers very difficult. The pads help grip onto things for me now! Before those slick vinyl pads would just slide off of everything haha
You know, it looks like you may have pulled your pads out of a mold too fast or something. I see spots that look like they were stretched when it was wet. Maybe it is from wear, I dunno...mine are probably shiny because they are new. Enamel would probably crack don't you think? with the flexable nature of the latex and enamel usually being hard. Try brushing on a new thick layer of Latex or taking the pads and dipping them into some latex and allowing them to dry. That is the great thing about latex, you can just throw a new couple of layers on top and it looks brand new xP
If that doesn't work out though I'd gladly do you a pair if you are interested <3 just let me know!

Yeah, my fursuit was a bit past the deadline and I wanted it for a big furry party that was going on in Orlando, so I drafted a heavily worded email and basically asked "I want it by <Date> or I want a refund, even it means I get materials instead of full $$ back"
So...my entire partial got built in like 2 1/2 days. Lol. Yeah, the pawpads were kinda...rushed looking, that was how I originally got it anyway.
Yeah the enamel cracked, I tested it on one pawpad, I did 2 coats. I bent the pawpad in half in order to crack the enamel, but it didn't chip off, I just saw wear lines in it. It wasn't giving me the glossy look I was hoping for anyway, so it didn't work out as planned. And I was brainstorming new ideas...until I saw your post here tonight with the Liquid latex, it sounds like a fantastic idea :p
and since I was mid-way working through my pawpads, and already took them off...it would be fairly easy for you to finish up the rest of the work xD
Hehe, PM me, this sounds like the ...perfect idea I was looking for ^_^
I'd love to buy a set :p

yep. Everyone says hot glue is crap, but I find it works well as long as you aren't trying to glue seams or anything xD
If I had a choice though, I would have attached it to some fabric and sewn it onto the glove then put the fur down on top of the fabric and around the pad to make sure it was EXTRA secure and to sink it down into the furpile
buuut I was way too scared to try and take these apart since they were already fully built (the paws) so I just did my best to push the fur out of the way and hot glue it down. There are some minor icky spots (where some fur got under the glue and then came out and is a little hard) but I was able to trim most of it away and have it still look alright xP

Very nice - I like how much more realistic they look =3 I think if you shave the fur down a little it might glue better, but I'm always afraid to mess up the shaving >_>
Those seem terribly squishable X3 and if I had a squeaker in my paw, I'd never be able to stop squeaking it >_>

I KNOW! I'm going to have so much friggin fun with this.
I can't wait to walk up to some kid or person and grab their nose with my paw and squeak it xP I can squeak the paw by squeezing my hand shut, so I can squeak anything I grab xD
GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN! I SHALL ANNOY THE WORLD!
