Also interesting detail you made that Elstiqs are want to be useful and this trait could be used by some persons in the wrong way... In their nature to be useful, but seems they're also a bit naive, like kids. It's good fuel for a story and different situations.

Their surface area tends to repel dust, but you can easily hose them down

But can there exist a mix of malstiq and another species? ^^;

Tbh it wouldnt really fit in with what they are as a 'species', but since they can be worn like suits ,you could have a malstiq possibly partially controlling another character, like half wearing them.

Elstiqs/Malstiqs also have different looks in general, so if you want them to look more like a different 'base' species, you're welcome to do that too.
