SFW Version of a ref sheet drawn for me by

https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50897514/This is Ronto, a young tiger who, dissatisfied with the thought of never really knowing what lies beyond his rural community and the immediate area, decided to strike out on his own to see what more the world had to offer. Leaving his parents and a whole host of younger siblings behind on the family farm for a while, he hit the road in search of new experiences.
Now, his actual full name is Lironto...but he's not fond of it, and only his mother still calls him that. If you ask him, it sounds too much like some kind of flower. To everyone else, even his other family members, he's simply Ronto. Speaking of his family though, they're a big part of who he is, and he shares close and positive relationships with each of them. His mother, a wonderfully kind woman with a bottomless heart, was probably the greatest influence on his personality. Bearing much resemblance to her in that regard, Ronto is far more gentle than his size and strength might suggest, and has a warm and friendly disposition. He may carry a spear with him, but he is far from a violent person, using it only for hunting, or as an implement of self-defense if pushed with no other options. On a more material level, she is responsible for Ronto and his siblings' relatively advanced literacy skills, at least compared to the vast majority of their peers.
That brings us to his father, who was the one who taught Ronto to use a spear. While Ronto tends to take more after his mother, he has learned much from his father as well. The former professional soldier took great joy in seeing the natural talent that his eldest son exhibited with the spear, and wondered in earlier years if the boy might grow into a fighter or even soldier that could surpass the prowess of his father. But Ronto's nature prevented him from ever wanting to pursue any path revolving around violence, and as such, his skills only developed so far. Though they both enjoy their sessions of light sparring in their free time, Ronto has never attained his father's level of proficiency in any form of fighting. Despite this, his relationship with his father has not been stunted, and they bonded well over laboring, hunting, and fishing together.
As mentioned earlier, Ronto is the oldest of...quite a few siblings. While I won't cite a specific number, suffice it to say that the size of his family is rather typical for a rural family of ages past. While all siblings have their rough spots with each other, Ronto cares deeply for each of his brothers and sisters, and played a role in helping to raise each who came after, as did all but the youngest. Perhaps it was this experience that gave the tiger his soft spot for children. In fact, he had been considering leaving home for at least a couple of years, but couldn't bring himself to do so until his youngest siblings had grown a bit older, somewhat more independent, and capable around the farm. And though he has parted from his home and family, it isn't for good, and he fully intends to return once he feels ready.
Comments are always welcome.

Pretty neat tiger. Sounds like he could be cool to hang out with if he'd ever be looking for a travel buddy. Possibly he'd be fun to spar with a bit as well if he were in the mood for it even though it sounds like fighting isn't really his thing all that much. ^^

OP
Thank you for the kind words! I'm quite sure Ronto would enjoy the company in either scenario. While he's not a fighter at heart, I'd say he considers it a minor hobby. Fighting with a spear is what he's best at by a long shot, but he also has some experience in hand-to-hand combat. Enough to give him a significant advantage over an untrained person, but not enough to put him on par with a relatively serious practitioner, unless he has a notable size and strength advantage to try to fall back on. Against a fairly skilled martial artist, he's probably getting whupped hand-to-hand, and he knows it. But that doesn't keep him from giving it a go anyway when he gets the chance, since finding out how people from other places fight is another curiosity to explore! It's a scenario he approaches in a humble manner, not seeking to challenge others per se, but to learn from them, and perhaps even teach them something if he finds he can (and also hopefully have some fun while he's at it!)
