In that appearance he is such a sharp and cool looking dragon-guy that it is impossible to ignore the amount of greatness and badassery he emits
Always loved that bloody red and dark black colors he weilds on his scales and plates - noble, bright and quite threatening mix that symbolizes his fiery nature and strong unyielding character
And inclusion of armor only makes him better. Scales of a dragon are good enough and strong but additional protection is always a wise choice and shows him as reasonable person
