Okay this was an idea I had in my head for a long while and this is probably as good as I'm going to get it to look.
She was formerly a living being that had her mind transferred into this body, since her old body was beyond the point of salvaging. Besides being lossy, the process is jarring, and the person that comes out on the other side is not quite the same as the person who went in, especially given that the entire physical structure of the body creates such different modes of thought in itself.
The idea for the android structure is some weird sort of ultra-integrated material--she has no real skeletal structure, the lightweight muscle-like fibers harden and soften exactly as they need to while keeping the general shape. So she can be ultra strong while as the same time squishy depending on how she flexes.
She has no centralized brain; the connective fibers that run throughout her body distribute her thought processes, so if part of her were destroyed, even the head, she would lose very little.
This all requires an enormous amount of energy to function, which is part of what the four jacks on her back are for. Even when running low-power, she must be able to access a power terminal for one hour every 48.
And now I am hungry and must get something to eat.

Aaaawwwweesome!!! Man, her back story sounds so familiar! I mean, except that I'm like half organic hybrid cheetah parts and half metal, and I still need to sleep, and I don't need to recharge because I have a teeny little nuclear power plant inside my brain. But I've got the whole lossy brain transfer thing. And the robot parts thing. She's pretty. Uh, a little unsettling seeing her with her skin off.
Interesting. Very few people note the idea that there is a biochemical basis to some of ones' personality, and that when transiting to an artificial body, even with the best of simulations, there simply is no substitute for that, thus the personality changes. the same must be said about re-downloading into a different organic body, the further the difference biochemically the further the personality shift.
Interesting idea on the musculature also being the computing substrate and its' ability to be both muscle and skeleton. Reminds me a bit of Smartex (Smart Latex) as defined in OrionsArm.com.
I like the piece!
