Jordan's primary psionic expertise is with telekinesis, and here is an example of one of its uses. With some focus a sufficiently practiced psion can create a barrier of telekinetic force that can readily deflect incoming projectiles and even concussive blasts if strong enough. Ordinarily these barriers are invisible, unlike those generated from energy shielding, but when struck directly the sudden application of telekinetic force and energy from the impact can distort light and make them visible.
