You may notice that the alien design and name are very similar to Gyigas/Giigu, main antagonist from Mother/Earthbound Zero games. These aliens ARE a homage to the famous alien, however they share only physical and name similarities, as well as amazing psychic abilities-personalities are totally different.

Gy'siangs are a race of peaceful aliens hailing from the distant regions of our galaxy, one of the newest members to join the Galactic Federation. Calm, wise, kind, and incredibly adept in the arts of telepathy and telekinesis, they use their abilities to assist whoever might need help or guidance. Despite their frail looks and peaceful personality, they are more than capable of defending themselves in case anything threatens them, in such cases displaying not only their tremendous psychic abilities, but also the power of their highly advanced technology, considered to be on par with the one of Bionids. They were also one of the first species who suggested that Federation helps out humans in their war against Centurions.
