okay but for real one second, it totally makes sense that nobody suspects Clark is Superman because Superman doesn't wear a mask, so who would even think that he has a secret identity to begin with? It's really very clever!

That's very true. He's not a masked man, so people just think he is who he is, and is never anything else.

Clark is the disguise, and the mask is his nebbish mannerisms and his glasses.

Anyway, the Radical Rubber Rat's secret is her hair changes texture and colour a fair bit, and the rest of her becomes more obviously rubbery as well, so the mask is simply part of an array of differences between her secret identity and her superhero one.
