For my New Year's Resolution I decided to finally complete an art project I've been brainstorming for years: The Robo Tarot, where I design robot-themed versions of every card in the Major Arcana!
I had mentioned this project a couple years ago on Patreon, but then dropped it soon afterwards to focus on other projects. Turth be told I wasn't as confident in it as I wanted to be at the time, but now I feel much more motivated, especially with how these particular designs came out.
I ended up learning a lot in a short time designing the back of this card with Clip Studio Paint, mainly in getting the design to be symmetrical. I also made a custom brush for making rust textures that I think came out pretty good. I went with a compass rose design because in looking at various other tarot deck designs I saw a good number of them use the compass rose for the back, or at the very least the eight-pointed star, both of which are symbols of direction, guidence, and hope.
(Special thanks to

oh trust me i'm far from an expert. I plan to do a lot of research and base much of the artwork on the symbolism of the classic Rider-Waite tarot deck, but I'd suggest looking up a site like tarot.com or biddytarot.com to start out with learning about tarot stuff- those are my main sources of info on the cards.
