Short, big eared, and a 'half-breed' of the green-tinted forest clan and yellow-tinted desert clan of the Gwil race, Sheshai tends to stick out. Well, maybe not in a crowd due to the height. At the beginning of her story, she is working as a light-duty healer in a city with few fellow Gwils and many who are hostile to her kind. Her order, the House of the Hand, placed her there under unpleasant circumstances. However, a crew from the House of the Shield, the order of warriors that fight monsters across the world, visits her workplace looking for a mercenary purifier. Despite her designation, the leader of that crew takes interest in her. She seems to have a hidden potential that he can sense.

Sheshai is the protagonist of what hopefully will be a trilogy of novels following her adventures against the Unliving Evil known as the Hessai. It's about... half written at this point in time.
