After the police finding her, Bethany led the them to the tied up shooter, but she was still brought aside to be investigated by police. Police cars were outside and working with other teachers to get a head count on everyone. Bethany sat at the seat of a police car, her legs sitting out and the door open while a police officer was standing beside her. She didn't really look to anyone, her eyes feel mainly on the building, and what she had done in there. The things that occurred played in her mind over and over again. She survived by not doing what she should have done, and someone that broke the rules and laws came to end this rather than actual law enforcement.
"You know this was a very reckless thing to do and fight this armed shooter, right?" The policeman said, "There's programs in place at this school to keep you safe while we did our job."
"Yes... I... I know..." Bethany said, looking downwards. There was more she wanted to say, how Lucy's life was in danger, how this person seemed to know and toy with what precautions were taught. Alas, none of it came out, instead, she turned to the officer who was taking down notes, "Did you find Torrent? She was the teacher I worked with? She's a young tigress, orange fur but light blue hair with a pink streak in it."
"We'd have to keep an eye out for her, but we're still sweeping the building." The large bull said, "Gotta make sure there's no injured or a second shooter in the building still." his green eyes kept to the note pad he kept between his reddish-brown hands. "So... How did you manage to tie up that killer, did you actually manage to beat him?"
"N-not quite." Bethany said, "Someone came and saved me, "I couldn't quite see them though, it was really dark."
"Any details would help to find them too." The officer said, "Try and think back on it."
"Well... Bethany paused for a moment, thinking back to those golden eyes she saw in the dark, as well as the small blade she saw them have up their sleeve. She opened her mouth, but then thought again, "Why do you want to know? What will happen to them?" "We'll find them and arrest them." The bull said, looking back to the school, "Vigilante Justice is a crime, and it gets worse as they fled the scene." He turned back to Bethany, "So, could you think of anything on this strange attacker?"
Bethany looked to the notes, and then back at the school, then she looked back to the bull, "I'm sorry. It was too dark, and it went by too fast."
"That's a shame," the officer said and flipped through some pages, "Well, that aside, I just got a few other questions I need you to answer as well as give you the court date since your testimony will get this man in prison for good..." They talked things through for hours, filling out paperwork and answering more questions.
Eventually Bethany returned home, thinking about what happened, questioning so much. She couldn't wrap around who that was that saved her, or why they would risk their life like that. She was even wondering why she would lie to police about the golden eyes she "didn't see" when she was rescued.
"What would Torrent have done?" Bethany said to herself as she leaned on the front door of her house, "Torrent... Torrent!" The idea occurred to her and she took out her cellphone and dialed a number. "Come on, come on, pick up..."
There was ringing, and then there was ringing again, then there was an answer,
"This is Torrent."
"Torrent," Bethany exclaimed, "You're okay!"
"Bethany? Is that you?" Torrent replied, "I heard you were eye to eye with the shooter. Where did that happen I was still moving about the school."
"What were you even doing leaving the class like that?" Bethany asked. From there, the two discussed everything that happened for hours, and Torrent's tale was as wayward as her teachings first seemed to the young para.
