This was my final project in my beginner's Glass class
we had to do a glass fusing, which is where you cut a bunch of glass chunks to make a pattern or picture, then heat them all in a kiln until they all fuse together into one solid sheet of glass.
I chose a Blue Ringed Octopus because I wanted to do something cool and dynamic and just vastly different than all the other students in my class :/
each piece of separate color is a separate tiny piece of glass that I had to cut and shape to fit together, and let me tell you there was a a shitload of pieces to this one! XD
I decided to frame it in a wooden box of my own construction, and paint the rest of the octopus out into the frame, just because I thought it would look neat :D Everyone in my class, and everyone that saw it pretty much loved it, and I really enjoyed making it and watching it develop, and I got an A+ on it too!, so I'd say it was a pretty good success as far as final projects go! :3
