I noticed that in the last page:
Ayal's focusing pendant went missing. This could be bad if that was the source of his power or how he uses it. Or maybe he doesn't need it now that's out of the normal deer form.
I'm not convinced that deer form was his real form, for how much he calls Saida and Brand "fakes".
Now we have a Tatarigami to deal with!

I'm guessing that the pendant Ayal was wearing was some sort of limiter valve. So that way, when the situation goes critical. All he has to do is remove it to unleash his true form. The Tyrant and Nemesis from the Resident Evil series wears a limiter jacket. Which is connected to a life support system then when the vitals go critical. The jacket simply falls off, so that way the Tyrant/Nemesis can mutate. Giving them an upper hand at finishing their job.
In other words, without his pendant. Ayal has mutated, giving him that extra edge to finish off Brand and Saida for good.

That one is difficult to determine, since the pendant might still be in the water that Ayal is guzzling from. The string that was holding it might have been burnt.
Sounds like a good plan, but there is one question: Does Saida have the ability to conduct the power of ice? (Well, Brand in this case. Due to the good ol' body swap switcheroo)

Not the ones that are fully saturated. Like Ayal here, for example. Like

Hmm... I dunno about that one, SupersuMC. It may do a significant amount of damage, but Ayal might be able to recover from that one, I'm afraid. Like Snow Lepoy have said. Freezing this monstrosity will be the Coúp de Grăce. Since instantly freezing the water will force it to expand at an incredible rate, that it should cause the tree/plant to explode with enough force to obliterate it.
I have to admit I never thought I'd see an out and out Eldritch Abomination in this series, but what Ayal turned into is straight-out Lovecraftian. (He's even got the Combat Tentacles!)
If only there were a way to stick HIM in the Soul Jar and deliver him up to the quetz Queen. They deserve one another. Oh, how they deserve one another.
