Hee Ho, Howdy everyone... Are you ready for one of the longest posts yet of lore in the setting? Yeah, I mean... Hopefully you are. Or well this will be one of the longest really, not the truest and most definitive idea. Although it should help those get a grasp of the setting and its timeline without having to jump from post to post. Also, check it out it's Miedra! Here in all of her Fruit Kobold glory in a less violent fashion than I usually draw her... Although, I think I've dwaddled long enough.
As I said, this is a general idea, many events will be massively shortened down, there will be many bulletin points, and all of these of course have massive expansions all around my page. Once more and more info is revealed I'll be putting them into "plot arcs", and things are bound to change or to be inaccurate, without further ado, let us begin as this will be taking many bullet points:
Before the Setting:
>>Primordial Chaos is born and has many different iterations as the grand multiverse is created with nothing known before this. Pretty much treated as the big bang for the grand multiverse.
>>Maxwell is born and becomes the very first grand multiverse hero. Only to become later on corrupted and is changed into the great destroyer. Becoming the first Maskless and creating an army of masked and doodle-like monsters that devour entire realms known as Faceless.
Start of the Setting (War of the Crystals and Fading Embers):
>>Huntley and Thomza’s story take place at the same time just at different parts in the grand multiverse. Both of these character’s face off against Maxwell and fail, having similar stories of being able to save their friends, but losing their universe as a whole. The major difference is that Thomza learns he is a Maskless being able to create worlds and Huntley is a nobody who stole a set of power armor. It is also to note that Thomza is from a JRPG setting while Huntley is from a contemporary science-fiction dystopian setting where humanity is stuck on Earth. Thomza was to fight back against the God’s of his universe in a grand epic tale and Huntley was just to find a job after losing his as a burger flipper. At the end though, Huntley is sealed away, but Thomza gets shot across the multiverse taking a devastating blow from Maxwell. This would cause Thomza to lose his voice, become entirely mute, and be without color.
>>Thomza awakes to find himself in a brand-new universe while being adopted by Ballos and UBiL, two greater deities who are foreign to a dying universe. Thomza is completely mute and without a voice as he squares off against “the pillars” as he tries to reunite with his wife, Tia... Who is a Tiamat superboss from his old realm. Here Thomza would meet many grand staple characters of the setting such as the Shooting Star Captain, Dr. Super Evil Bad, and Ben. The pillars would be slain, Maxwell would find Thomza and demand a rematch with this time Thomza coming out victorious and leaving Maxwell wounded. Swearing revenge and to test against Thomza and the gods of a new universe when the time is right. Thomza, UBiL, Ballos and Tia would take the spot of the pillars and help create a brand-new universe.
The Creation of the Cycles:
>>With the new pillars in place Thomza did not want to make the same mistakes of the previous gods of this universe or his old one. Creating his own universe with their help. Universes 1-7 were “test” universes to try and get everything to simply work. Mostly duds and simple testing rooms.
>>Cycle 8 was the first universe that was considered a success. A new testing ground that was unfortunately lost to the magic system being too complex. The only survivors were Eldrick and Eclipse and Eclipse got to become the god of magic. As Eldrick became a wandering vagabond who hopped from dimension to dimension.
>>Cycle 9 had even more weird successes as it was more hands-on with its creation. Magic was entirely outlawed and very thoroughly woven into the world. It would see the rise of Proto, Aellea, Erickson, and the dwarves. As well as Thomza and Tia interacting with their creations for the first time. Even if it meant Tia pretending to play the bad guy as Thomza got to be the silent knight. It was a universe of adventure and excitement circling around the idea of “eternal life”, which Aellea and Proto eventually found and took their throne with the gods. This universe was very standalone as the God’s used its success to make a much bigger project known as Cycle 10.
Cycle 10:
>>Cycle 10 was an incredibly large and grand-scale project. This was the first universe they made where they went entirely hands-off to see what would happen. This would be the first time they used multiverses within their own universe. Altering massively different scenarios to see what would happen. By a certain threshold though, out of 75 billion multiversal threads, only 5 would survive by the time the A.I war would happen.
>>The A.I war is one of the most commonly known events that happened across every multiverse in Cycle 10. Leaving up to mostly total annihilation, and the 5 that did survive plunged the universe into a technological dark age. The struggle for power was on and everyone wanted to conquer the galaxy after it was said and done. Although thanks to the war every side was wounded, and most technological wonders were lost. This war lasted for almost 300 years in total, and many things came out of this. Such as the ban on A.I technology, the Alpha Fruit Kobolds being created by a faction known as Yggdrasil, and the rise of Angel-Tech and humanity to conquer what was left of the universe as the Plantaran Republic struggled for power.
Boars of War:
>>In cycle 10C (where most of the story focus takes place.) During the year of ALB (After Love Bots/A.I war) 314 Shooting Star Captain would have a child named Hunter Star as well as Betzalel Star. These kids are one of many across the multiverse as the Star Captain has a lot of children to create powerful warriors. To avoid this Asha would take Hunter to a disclosed location while Betzalel was taken by the Ultrinian faction known as Yggdrasil. While Hunter would be abducted into the Plantaran Military for special ops forces. He would later escape and become a mercenary with Caroline, Doctor Love and his Mimin mentor and father figure nicknamed “Snipes”
>>Caroline would also be born at the same time as Hunter. Hailing from a death world and the two meeting on an outskirt planet with faceless cultist attempting to bring them into their world. Caroline puts a stop to them alone, and Hunter saves her life from a faceless infection. However, this would change her biology rapidly and it is nearly impossible to survive these infections. Her body morphing and becoming the fourth known Maskless in the universe without her knowledge.
>>Hunter would eventually become a major contractor of the underworld taking jobs for a Queen known as “Seraphina” and also watching after her daughter. Hunter and Seraphina would form a strong bond after 2 years.
>>Hunter would receive an incredibly dangerous mission at the age of 22 in the year of ALB 336 to fight the matriarch. A remnant love-bot God A.I who wishes to conquer what’s left of the Galaxy. Hunter puts a stop to her plans, but not without the cost of his entire career, friends, snipes, and was presumed dead when the planet exploded. Leaving Caroline as the only survivor of the event to tell the tale. Hunter though escaped with the help of Nunohum and finding a ship just in time. Only to leave himself suddenly stranded on planet Materia, a remnant of Cycle 9’s main planet and toy box of the god.
Heroes to be Made:
>>Hunter after several months of being stranded on Planet Materia would come across Captain PiK. A Mimin commander of the armada who had crash landed on this planet and lost all of his crew. As well as creating an army of “Fruit Kobolds” who follow him around as they seen him as a god falling from the sky. (Which in reality was his spaceship.) The two of them would team up and make it their goal to create a distress beacon to get off the planet. Hunter would then reunite with Caroline, Doctor Love as well as wife Seraphina. Hunter was also promised a ton of money by Captain PiK if he was able to properly reunite with the armada, and so Hunter made it his goal to do “one last job” so he can retire.
>>During all of this Captain PiK would reunite with the armada only for them to wish to conquer Planet Materia. Captain PiK would then decide to betray the armada at the cost of his life only to be reborn as the God of the Holy Flesh under a contract that he didn’t remember signing. Several years of fighting later, he would come out victorious. Claiming titles in his name and wiping out their mothership and destroying their empire with the help of many allies along the way. Hunter would also get his farm as he gets to help raise a family in the middle of Captain PiK making his new kingdom.
>>the year would slowly tick down to ALB 339 before anything of interest happened once again. The town of Dlobok and Bayshore were built and were technological wonders as they dwarfed the other primitive natives who fought their own wars and left the main cast alone. However, Yggdrasil would pop up to declare war on another faction known as Ouroboros. Two Ultrinian based factions that were on planet Materia and only recently discovered thanks to their infighting. Which also caused Angel-Tech, another group entirely to get involved as Captain PiK’s forces were abruptly caught in the middle. Forcing his hand to get into a fight once again... and then the gods of the planet, “The Stars”, would also join in on this battle and whispers of the Mute God coming down to rally the Scalebolds would also be heard. This would create the “Ultrinian War” which is the most brutal battle ever fought on Planet Materia in all of its history. Creating a massive and terrifying free for all which lead on for over 3 years... that and Huntley would suddenly return seemingly out of nowhere as he is with the God A.I, AGNAR and working as his Vessel.
>>Towards the end of the war, most factions would lay in ruin. Yggdrasil would yield, and Ouroboros was entirely destroyed. Angel-Tech would continue their onslaught and accidentally unleash a faceless threat in their attempt of dire research. Wishing to use it as a super weapon only for it to turn against them. Hunter tries to stop it, fails, and gets sent back in time by 60 years to a younger Planet Materia. One final assault would happen as the faceless have arrived at this universe and Maxwell has returned. Many heroes would fall and perish in this fight as Hunter would return exactly on the dot several moments later after having his own adventures back in time. However, he would lose many people who were important to him to Maxwell, including the death of his father and one of his partner’s, Lynn. Which causes Hunter to become so angry that he demands a fight from primordial chaos and makes a deal with him that Lynn, would come back, if he can beat him in a fight. This would cause Hunter to train for many, many, many years to come.
Council of Chaos:
>>With the threat of the Faceless forces on their doorstep, Captain PiK scrambles on all ends to fortify his defenses. Meanwhile the mute god Thomza, gains his colors and voice back after 10 cycles. However, there is no time to celebrate as an even bigger threat is on the horizon, The Council, a group of color gods who rule the grand multiverse and all those who live in it. As they are now aware of Thomza and his Maskless nature and his universe may very well be marked for destruction if he does not do as they say. In which Thomza fights back at first but is defeated and is given a second chance to cooperate or everything he knows will be obliterated.
>>During the Council of Chaos a great deal of things happen. Hunter has to take up the mantle of the Star Captain as well as help raise his family. Captain PiK would slowly be driven into insanity, becoming more of a tyrant as he tries to get his kingdom under control, and Thomza would be forced to take actions against others outside of his universe thanks to the council’s hand.
>>At the near climax of the adventure, Thomza would square off against the Pink Deer God of the council. Facing him in glorious combat as he planned on taking over Thomza’s realm despite Thomza listening to the council. The rule would be set, if Thomza was able to defeat the pink god he can keep his universe safe. In which a brutal battle was fought by him and Tia and wounded the pink god terribly as well as wiped out his entire army singlehandledly. However, Thomza was not allowed to finish him off and he was spared.
>>The Pink God seeking revenge would actually take the daughter of Hunter Star to lure him into his realm to have him killed. However, Hunter would come out by the skin of his teeth and obliterate the pink god from existence, saving his daughter and gaining the title of “Ragnarök” with the death of the Pink God, a new one took their place... Which was the goddess of the arena, and she immediately struck a deal with Thomza to destroy the golden god of the council, the gnome god, with the even further promise of Thomza going from their errand-boy... to an arranged marriage so he can have his realm be under the protection of the council. He agreed, and Thomza as well as many other members of the main cast destroyed the realm of the humanoids, and Thomza was crowned a member through conquest and marriage. Council of Chaos would end with Hunter getting Lynn back and more than proving his worth to primordial chaos.
The World of Dark:
>>after the council of chaos was dealt with, Thomza would return home to find Captain PiK going completely mad. Losing several people close to him before the two would get into a conflict which left both forces wounded. Slowly coming to an agreement and Captain PiK beginning a slow road to recovery with his kingdom and people. This victory would be short lived as the faceless would start tearing universe apart more and more, causing everything to collapse in on itself and every single timeline merging together all at once. This would have new characters pop up such as Actaeon, Quip, Cheshire and Horatio. Not to mention with the universes all merging at once, some of the cast for scattered across the universe and now must make their way back to Planet Materia
>>During all of this, there is a planet shrouded in mystery with a brand-new hero to take the spotlight. His name is Icarus and is the son of Thomza and Aellea. He’s off to fight and save the world from “the black god”, a pillar of the old universe who revived himself and swore revenge on Thomza and all the rest of the cast. Icarus would be chased by cultist, monsters, the undead, and would bring the fight to the Angel of dark after being mysteriously wounded only for him to finish him off.
>>During the events of Icarus’ own story, Thomza would be brought to a mysterious wasteland that’s still filled with Love-Bots and their inhabitants. A realm where large crystals suck the magic out of the planet, and he must uncover the mysteries behind it. Meeting brand new faces along the way as he refuses to go home until this world is saved. The Angel of dark would show up, only to be beaten down by Thomza as he does his best to revive the love-bots to their former glory and lead them to a new light.
>>After everyone makes it home with the new addition of Icarus, Huntley would also return from his own adventure of saving a civilization of lizard folk on a planet that was destroyed by a meteor.
>>this reunion though is short lived as Maxwell launches a full, and massive attack on Planet-Materia. Countless spaceships black out the sky, and it almost looks like all hope is lost before UBiL intervenes and causes an extremely devastating attack as Thomza shields who he can. This counterattack from UBiL would cause a massive universal crush, hoping to wipe out any faceless forces there is to protect the universe. However, this backfires as the main cast are sealed away only to reawaken hundreds of years later where their exploits are mere stories and legends, and it’s a new Planet Materia and universe that awaits them outside.
Cycle 10.5: (Present)
>>The main cast would start to get their bearings on the situation at hand. Founding several new city states and going into hiding and learning of brand-new foes, and familiar enemies who never truly went away and only rose to power in their absence. Everyone is now here who has fully been affected by Maxwell, and in the pillar’s absence he now has full control of the setting and is pulling the strings. The universe has become his puppet show and the final showdown draws closer by the day.
...and that about covers it all, yeah, it's... It's a lot to be honest with you, almost 10-11 years of work into the writing of the setting and these are only small bullet points. A problem is I kept dealing with feature creep and had to remove entire arcs, characters, or even condense them down as the setting is incredibly grand scale. Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system. There are also many satirical tones as well...
