Seen here at parade rest with his snare drum, Trooper Tiger is one of multiple DCI (Drum Corps International) performers that got affected by CNG, and subsequently gained superpowers. Super C then made the decision (after going through talks and training with all of them) to induct them as G-52s on their 18th birthday. Trooper Tiger is the first one of the group to hit 18.
Here's his bio, and note the name "Trooper Tiger" refers to his performing unit, the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps.
Trooper Tiger Bio
Name: Trooper Tiger
Alternate Name: Timothy ("Tim") Jarquelin
Species: White Bengal tiger
Gender: Male
Appearance: Slim but athletically built white Bengal tiger with blue eyes. He joins Corps Coon and the other animals in the act of padding (going barefoot) when he can, but he wears shoes when needed to respect the foreign cultures who frown upon such a thing. You can usually find him wearing his uniform as a member of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps (hence his codename).
The current uniform design consists of a navy blue jacket with three rows of silver buttons that converge down the front, black shoes and socks, and a black Stetson hat wrapped with gold nylon cords with a crossed-saber pin.
Though he doesn't have plans to go into the military himself, his family has a military history to be admired, and so they collect military-related artifcats, from drums, fifes, and bugles, to uniforms, to rifles and other ammunition. He has customized military uniforms from all the branches as a result.
Occupation: Member of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, playing the snare drum. He also plays in his high school marching and concert bands. He has had experiences with military-style rope-tensioned snare drums, usually if the school's drama department has a patriotic theme associated with it. In each case, fifes would always play alongside him. He has also had the pleasure of performing alongside groups such as the Old Guard, the Hellcats, and the US Army Herald Trumpets, as a guest. (These all came from cases where his living ancestors were awarded with various prizes, from the Purple Heart to the Presidential Medal of Freedom.)
Original Hometown: Casper, Wyoming, USA
Current Hometown: Casper, Wyoming, USA
Current Age: 18
Age Expected to Freeze due to CNG: 29
Current Hometown: Casper, Wyoming, USA
Battle Uniform: None yet, but like Corps Coon, he plans to have a customized uniform based on his drum corps uniform. It's likely that the battle uniform will be black, but with similar highlights, and the Stetson hat will again have the crossed sabers.
Superpowers: Cash manipulation, super hearing, and image manipulation. Similar to Corps Coon, his snare drum has the ability to hypnotize the enemies into marching to the beat, which frequently leads to their arrest.
Bio: At the 2017 DCI World Championships, Bendraqi's old-fashioned robots that continued to attack after his first life's end attempted to destroy Lucas Oil Stadium, and CNG that was being smuggled accidentally poured out of the robots and gave immortalized to one random furry member of each and every world class corps, since all of them were attending. All furries immortalized were soon to have discovered that they have money powers similar to Cripto, Cash Cat, Quiz King, and Lotto Lion, but different colors of CNG gave differnt powers to different furries, depending on the furry, their instrument (depending on the instrument), and any interests outside of music. Ringo (Corps Coon) was attending as a VIP guest, and as a result, also gained the same type of money powers.
DCI hails Timothy as a mix of Super Slash and Tom the Patriotic Tiger, because of his interests in military and military history, but also the fact he prefers to let his music do the talking. Drumming was discovering to be an innate talent, and all he really needed to learn were the definitions of the 26 basic rudiements of drumming. He says he's nowhere close to the level of Corps Coon, though, and that the latter can take him in as one of his disciples.
His interest in all things patriotic came from a combination of reading history books, hearing the stories from his father and grandfather about their days as a soldier and sailor, respectively (covering both Army and Navy), visiting museums, and watching VHS tapes that had old patriotic WW2-era cartoons unsuitable for broadcast today (because of stereotypes displayed).
Contrary to popular belief, however, the nickname "Trooper Tiger" was first established on him during his freshman year of high school, but it had nothing to do with the corps. It came from the fact that for physical education classes, the kids had to run a tough Army-style obstacle course, designed to make it impossible to finish. It was rare to see anybody finish, and the principal fired the physical education teacher the next day upon discovering he took pride in seeing nobody finished, and it didn't help that one bear passed out from exhaustion. Other kids had to stop to revive him, and they rallied together to help him get to the finish point. Timothy was the only one to actually finish, and when he broke the finish tape, the teacher's jaws dropped to the floor. (Timothy would drop to the ground as well, himself very tired.)
"Did I make it?" he asked.
"Why, nobody's ever completed the obstacle course before!" the teacher had said, pretending to be delighted and amazed. "What a trooper! I'm so proud of you!" He proceeded to award Timothy the medal and trophy that went with the race, and then he was reportedly heard mumbling to himself, "I can't believe he won! That's not supposed to happen! I should change that! This was supposed to be fixed! Who would ever have thought somebody would really win?"
"Bumjead, you're fired!" the principal shouted. "You and your ego! Both!"
Later, alongside all the world class corps of DCI, Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps participated in a special parade in Wildcat City several days after the championships. After the parade, Super C consulted with the each of the corps and gave them the details on the G-52s and how they operate, why one has to be 18 to be a G-52, etc. "Given the circumstances," he concluded, "I have approved for each to you to become a G-52 on your 18th birthday. Until then, you're listed as an independent ally, and the more valuable allies that we have, the better."
Trooper Tiger, therefore, is the first of the DCI members in the G-52 Drum and Bugle Corps to actually become a G-52. In order to keep in shape, he weightlifts and does military-style workouts.
Quotes: "Does it bother me that we've never won a championship? Not at all. We're still America's Corps, and it is our duty to frequently use themes of Western and patriotic music. We had one second place finish in 1973, but we hadn't ever gotten that high since."
"I have my drumming duties, but I got nothing on Ringo (Corps Coon). He makes it look so easy. But then again, he makes everything look easy."
"It is my patriotic duty to beat my drum."
"I don't know what the heck the P.E. teacher was thinking. He was so certain nobody would finish, but he wanted to be smug about it and insult us for being such wimps. I can't believe I actually finished the course, let alone do so without injury. As for Bobby (the bear who passed out), he'll be all right."
Catchphrases: various military commands (though he doesn't say them very often)
