Quick doodles. An attempt to give myself a good-looking body (see thing with crown) gave rise to a new creature instead. It's a semi-arboreal opportunist predator with no eyes. Why? Not sure. Maybe its habitat is full of visual cognitohazards?
The "quills" on its back are part of some sort of magical sensory apparatus, giving a vague sense of the density of nearby objects. The creature can detect creatures in its vicinity without relying too much on sight or sound, making them resistant to illusions. This also lets them see through physical illusions like cloaks or walls to some degree. Although it doesn't help with reading text unless the ink is much denser than the paper.
They may also have some form of venom. Haven't decided.
I originally did these sketches on paper, where they looked WAY better.
