My attempt to actually write the story behind this drawing: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50244674/
I'm still unsure what style to actually write this story, while I prefer 3rd person, 1st person perspective seems more personal to write this kind of story.
Please don't feel shy to share your thoughts on the story below, I'd greatly appreciate the feedback!
With that said and done, enjoy the writing and art!
Story starts below!!! ^.=.^;
Zester was probably the only reason I survived those next few days, I don’t just mean because of my injuries either. In theory a forest like this was all but overflowing with edible food, if you know how to find it.
I unfortunately lacked said knowledge, as easily shown by how thin I’d become.
Lucky for me, Vester was not only an amazing cook. But a knowledgeable guide in everything one needed to know about the local terrain.
So each day when I was given bowls of warm stew and bottles of glowing medicine. She would take the time to just sit with me over a meal and talk.
She taught me all about what plants were good for eating and which would kill me so dead, that even the most voracious of scavengers wouldn’t touch my corpse. She showed me all kinds of special herbs, spices and poisons she could gather. Explaining how to identify them, where to find them and most importantly, how I could use them to improve my own waning condition.
In return, as soon as my leg was healed enough to walk without excruciating pain. I began to join Vester on her daily outings.
Sadly the reality was I was pretty useless, sure even in my woeful condition I was still physically stronger than the wild Witch. But my strength mean nothing when it came to gathering mushrooms and weeds, despite this Vester never opposed to my presence… In fact I think she rather enjoyed having the company and the chance to coach someone about surviving from the forest.
It didn’t hurt that I was slowly beginning to understand her native tongue without the assistance of her magic, something that filled the Witch with apparent joy when I occasionally spoke the language allowed.
As days passed, my bones stopped aching with each step, my lungs stopped sounding like a broken squeaky toy and I started putting on some weight again. Vester continued her ad hock lessons, eventually teaching me how to cook a proper meal and even how to brew some of the more mundane potions that didn’t require magic.
It was approaching my forth week living with the Witch that something seemed to change from our usual routine.
As usual, my slumber was disturbed by the clatter of Vester climbing down from her bedroom to start her daily routine. Like always, she went straight for the brick stove and used her magic to boil her little kettle. Lighting a fire always took so long and magic was just easier she always told me.
With the kettle whistling away, I took that as my que to roll out of my makeshift perch to start my own morning routine.
I was in luck that Vester didn’t mind me poaching some of her tea each day, the minor kick of caffeine was something I dearly missed.
It was as I started making my own tea after Vester stepped aside that things went off script.
Instead of taking a place at the table or heading outside, Vester seemed to hover in the kitchen less than an arm’s length away from me. Gently sipping her morning beverage with a sparkle in her eye that set me on edge.
“Dimi?” she finally spoke, using her weird pet name she’d given me on the third day of my stay here.
“Umm yes?” Vester drummed her claws on her mug for a second before replying.
“Are you still interested in learning magic?”
It took a moment for my sleep deprived brain to realize what she said, when it did I felt a spark of excitement as I turned to her with no small amount of confusion.
“You kidding?” I couldn’t help by ask, only to me answered by an amused smile from the Witch herself.
My excitement however quickly vanished as I remembered our previous conversations on the topic, even if Vester taught me all there was to know about magic. At the end of the day, it didn’t change the fact that I was a magicless alien in these lands.
“If I could, I’d love to learn magic… you already know that Vester” my voice snapped as the frustration inside me built.
Instantly regret blossomed inside me as I notice Vester flinch from the tone of my voice. I couldn’t look her in the eye after that, instead opting to focus completely on preparing my tea and stepping away from the stove top... Only for the witch to match my steps and follow me to the table.
“Dimi..” Vester hand caught my arm, pulling me short as she sat her cup aside. “I.. want to share something with you.”
She looked conflicted for all but two seconds. Before suddenly leaning in close and planting her lips against my own, needless to say I tried to pull away in shock but Vester grip on my arms was like that of a vice.
However, even in my less than stellar physical condition. I was far heavier and stronger than Vester, so when I pulled away and she latched hold. I forced us both to come tumbling to the ground with a might crash and clatter, tea spewing across the floor as my mug all but disintegrated upon impact.
Somehow through all of this, Vester had kept her lips planted against my own.
Suddenly I found myself in a precarious position, Vester was all but straddling me on the floor, my attempts to get up with met with a firm shove of the witch’s hands as she seems to glow with magical energy.
“Vi..urk!” I tried to yell at her, but the crazy woman used the opportunity to dart her bloody tongue into my mouth.
She pulled back after that, her breath coming out in a misty, almost glowing like cloud that obscured my vision. All I could taste was saliva and the faint mixture of tea as I spluttered and coughed, until Vester leaned in close once more.
“Shhh, be still” she whispered.
I tried to snap back a response, only.. I couldn’t breathe.
Caught mid breath, I could only shudder as I felt a warm tickling sensation push itself down my throat and burn my lugs. Vester leaned closer, her lips brushing against my own as she seemed to exhale that misty glowing cloud right down my throat.
