A Family Trip – Chapter 1: Mama’s Idea
It was a warm day in the grounds of the Mansion where Mama Chompless and her family lived. Mama Chompless was a shapeshifter and a very sweet one. She was black with a yellow stripe on both sides from head to tail tip. She had red hearts on each eye, one on her forehead, belly, behind and many on her tail. She even had one on each foreclaw and one on her tongue too. I was also a shapeshifter too. My name was Feathers. I was one of Mama’s sons and ever since she adopted me, I have had a happy life. My brothers and sisters were all lovely and very caring. Today, I was relaxing beside my mother, giving her the occasional lick, when suddenly, she came up with an announcement. “I have had an idea, my dears. Would you all like to go on a trip with me?” Of course, everyone said yes to that very excitedly. Well, everyone except me. I just quietly nodded and smiled, giving Mama a nuzzle, before saying. “But where should we go, Mama? And what about our home?”
She smiled at me and said “Don’t worry, sweetheart. The house is very secure. Nothing will get in, as long as it is a friend or a member of the family. And as for where we should go, well where would you all like to go?” My brother Floof spoke up with “Anywhere with Parasaurs!” to which his mate gave him a playful nudge. She was a Parasaurolophus herself called Patricia. She was the first family member I ever met and I saw her as a maternal figure to me. Even if I was adopted by Mama Chompless, I still saw Patricia as another mother. She noticed me looking at her and gave me a loving smile, gesturing me over to her. I nodded and walked over to her, sitting between her and Floof, who also smiled softly. Mama then spoke again, saying “Of course you’d say that, Floof! Hehe well there will be Parasaurs anywhere. I was thinking a trip to the mountains or the moors? We could spend time together and lots of fun there!”

I smiled, nuzzling Patricia, and said “I know of those moors! There’s a lot of rocks we can play hide and seek on and I can create little structures we can use! I grew up there!” Everyone seemed to like the idea, so Mama then said that the Moors were the place we were gonna go. Suddenly, I felt a tickling on my tail and turned around to find a very naughty brother called Wolfy nibbling on it. “Hey! Wolfy, you goof! That’s my tail!”
