imo the majority of people that say things like "lalas are evil, dumb popotos!" are mostly just memeing and don't actually mean it. Personally I've never really had a bad experience with other lalas in my parties or gotten called out for playing one. One thing I do find being a target of as a lala is how so many people come and pet my character out of the blue haha
